2020/007: New Party to the Agreement - Accession of Turkmenistan

The Secretariat of the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (UNEP/AEWA) is pleased to inform you that Turkmenistan will become a Contracting Party to AEWA as of 1 January 2021.

This accession will bring the total number of Parties to 82.

The UNEP/AEWA Secretariat is delighted to welcome Turkmenistan to the AEWA Family and looks forward to working closely with the Government and relevant stakeholders on the implementation of the Agreement. 

Turkmenistan has also acceded to the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS).
